There are three stages of progression in the MC² club.

When you first join the club you have to complete a tear-down of a non-working computer (we call these “Shonkys“) with someone directing you through how to take it apart. You then have to put it back together. When you have done this you get it checked by Mr Wallace or a leader of the MC² club. After this you graduate to CARETAKER status and are trusted to repair Chromebooks.

Training

There are 3 stages of leveling up in the  MC² club that include:

Recruit (Learning):

The first thing you have to do is take apart a Chromebook that is labeled ‘Shonky’.

What you have to do is a full tear-down of a device and then lay out every component. You are taken through how to do this by a leader and will  have to put it back together by yourself. You then get it checked by either a teacher or a leader.

Caretaker (Fixing)

When training is complete you become a caretaker.

You will be allowed to take apart machines to fix and once you have fixed them you get canteen vouchers.

A caretaker can be allocated a device to work on (take care of) while a leader advises on which repairs to undertake and which spare parts to use.

Leader (Advising)

After fixing another 2 Chromebooks, you may become a leader. The leaders have more privileges and responsibilities, like writing in the leader boxes and making comments on progress in the spreadsheet, and you will be training the future recruits.
