MC² stands for “MCC’s Creative Computing”. It’s a recursive acronym, like GNU.

MC² is a Creative Computing club, based on repairing Chromebook hardware, 3D printing, music and Linux (with some lighting, coffee and food along the way.)
What the club does is fix computers, mostly Chromebooks, here in the school grounds of our College. It runs other activities as well.
Not only does it help the environment (not throwing the broken devices out) but it’s also returning value back to the school because they can go back in service.
The school doesn’t need to buy many new devices. By swapping out the parts we can combine two broken machines to make a working device.
When they’re finished being repaired by the students in the club devices go straight to the IT manager, Chris, to either re-enroll in the school system or as a spare.
In exchange the student that fixed the computer receives a $5 canteen voucher. If it was a complex job, we get 2 vouchers.
Riley currently manages our site.
